Phil Hinson Durden, 71, of Monroe, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2016.

He was born in Macon on March 2, 1945, to Delores Hinston and Newborn Durden, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Audrey and Shirish Sahai, of Roswell, and Susan Durden, of Monroe; son, Marc Durden, of Monroe; sister, Barbara Ann Kilgore, of Adrian; and grandson, Andrew Sahai, of Roswell.

Phil was a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. He served the Athens and Monroe communities as a pharmacist for 40 years. Phil loved his family, friends and the game of golf.

A memorial service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe. Meadow Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
