Jerry M. Baston
January 26, 1944 - September 21, 2016
Macon, GA- Jerry M. Baston passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Jerry, the son of Charles W. Sr. and Mary Baston, was 72. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy stationed in San Diego, California and aboard Point Defiance L.S.D. 31. After service to his country, he worked diligently putting himself through college and receiving his business degree, which led to his dream career in accounting and tax preparation. He was a master of numbers and tax laws, but more importantly, he enjoyed working with clients he had the privilege of knowing throughout his career.
Over the years, Jerry enjoyed fishing with his family and riding motorcycles with friends. He treasured the memories of the wonderful vacations he and his family took over the years with dear friends Ronnie, Brenda and Ainsley Carter. An immediate smile would appear on his face at the mention of those hilarious trips. Jerry's gift was his ability to make those around him laugh.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents and by his brothers, Charles, Emory and Otto and special uncle A.L. Booth.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Attaway Baston; daughters, Kristi Baston and Angie Howell and son in law, Russ Howell. He is also survived by a brother Russ Baston, sister-in-law, Brenda Baston, a special aunt Margaret Booth, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
