Dorris (Dotty) McDaniel

Dorris (Dotty) McDaniel passed away June 12, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Crockett Saville and Dorris Lindsey Saville, and her nephew, Mell Leggett.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jim McDaniel, sister & brother-in-law, Susan & Loran Leggett, nephew, Neil Leggett, great-nephew, Andy Leggett, and great-nieces, Anna, Lindsey, & Emily Leggett. 

Born in Macon, GA on January 21, 1945 she was a 1963 graduate of Miller High School. Her freshman year of college she attended Mercer University and in 1964 she transferred to the University of Utah, studying Ballet & Fine Arts. In 1966 she attended Crandall Business College and continuing her business career as an administrative assistant in the insurance industry until she retired.

During her time in Utah she fell in love with the Salt Lake Mountains vacationing there throughout her life enjoying all seasons there especially the winter snow. Her hobbies were antique furniture, chair caning, reading European history and mysteries. She also enjoyed her cats.

The family will receive friends Wednesday June 21, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
